New backdoor exploits Sony’s rootkit!

Only a couple of days after the widely commented news of Sony’s copy protected DRM-laden music CDs, there is a new backdoor in the wild exploiting it, as described by Kaspersky Lab in their latest alert. So much for the justifications by Sony that their scheme won’t really matter. The EFF initiative for litigation just took a firmer footing too.

Who is this DRM “protection” exactly for? What is the value of the “License agreement” limiting Sony’s liability to $5?
