Well, there were a lot of adventures to be had driving the Segway around. We went to the supermarket, and shopped around, to the amusement of the other shoppers. We went to the restaurant, and, yes, the kids got lost. They were very cool about it. When they realized that they didn’t know where they were (or where I was) anymore, they looked around, and found the police to ask for help. They got fed, the police tracked me down, and after half an hour we were back together. I even snapped a few photos with the kids in the patrol car, and the Segway leaning on the side of the car, but the reflective stripes blinded the camera…

Well, this went pretty well. Not only they didn’t throw me out at the eatery, called Midì, where I go to have lunch, but actually were curious, and wanted to try the Segway themselves! As I entered I asked if they minded if I parked it inside, and was told to just bring it up close to the cashier where they could keep an eye on it.

For a few days, thanks to the friends at SCM I am testing the newly released Segway i2. I have already driven the old model, but I am glad to have the chance and test it at some length. My intention is that of bringing it everywhere, to see how people react. This morning, as I was going to school with her, my daughter Giordana said “Dad, can I pretend I don’t know you?”
